Organic search rankings shown in Google Analytics

Just found this brilliant postthat tells you how to extract your search ranking from the URL that visits your site from Google. If all goes well, I should then be able to know exactly where my search terms are showing up in Google – I will be keeping an eye on this new profile to see what happens.
Failing this, SEO book has a great free tool for the Firefox browser that allows you to input the keywords you would like to keep an eye on and then it fetches their position information in all the main search engines including google.co.uk! It will be good to see if their is nay disparity between these data sets.

Link Strategies

As an SEO, I restle with link building and its ethics (viewed as if by Google), but here is a great forum post about the main methodologies and their associated pitfalls as well related discussion. I’m posting this as it is the first time I have seen such a comprehensive “waffle free” list of these.

Link strategy post – webmasters world

Google PR

I used to obsess, but now I’m really just done with it. It seems to change in a totally obscure and random way! I know I have more people coming from Organic listings than I ever have before, but my PR is down to what it was in April. Ho-Hum.

I’m off to go and do something more useful, like devlope some more nice content to keep people interested and buying (which they seem to be doing a fair bit of late – people just can not get enough cufflinks this month!).

Link Building

I’ve been on a mission with Link Building of late, and after the PR of my two websites dropped down to 1 or 2 after our major site upgrade in march, I’ve managed to get UK Cufflinks up to 4! Which was higher than when I started. Hopefully it may go higher still by the time I am finished with my site linking project!

June was a little down on May as despite the fact that the number of transactions was up, the average spend was down. Advertising costs are down for a second month in a row. When I’m happy that I’m spending money on the right keywords, I will have reason to increase spend due to its increased effectiveness.

Link Building – the search continues…

New link for me: nextime

bloody hard work though.
