How to: take a COVID-19 antibody test at home

A walk through of the process of performing a 2019-nCov IgG / IgM rapid blood test at home. The test cassettes are manufactured by Biomaxima in Poland and were purchased from Thistle Scientific in Scotland. They come with everything you need, except for the lancets for pricking your finger.

As mentioned in the video, a couple of members of our family have chromic health conditions so I wanted to find out if we have already had the virus. As it turns out, all (~12) tests that we have done on our family members so far have been negative.

There’s a lot of debate out there on the efficacy of these tests, and quite frankly I don’t know what to believe – the only way to know is to have the PCR test on a subject with the live virus and then take one of these tests several days later, but on a scale that would give a reliable indication of it’s efficacy.
